In What Do You Find Your Identity?

Exodus 3:11-12

In Exodus 3:11, Moses faces somewhat of an identity crisis. God has placed a task before him and he feel inadequate. Often, we may be faced with a task and feel the same. However, God has specifically placed us in a specific situation for a specific purpose. While we may in fact be inadequate, as believers we are not supposed to feel that way. Why?

Exodus 3:12 - 'He said, "But I will be with you, and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain."

It's simple. God told Moses that none of his excuses mattered because He would be with Moses. Essentially, God told Moses he was correct. By yourself you are inadequate but with me you are fully capable and will succeed so that my name will be known.

Fight that feeling of inadequacy by not finding your identity in what you do or in any special skill you may have or not have but find your identity in God. With him by your side, you will be more than fully equipped to perform His purpose for your life.
